This study investigates and analyzes the needs of mothers who have preschool children in order to develop a parent education program. A focus group interview was conducted from five mothers of preschool children for needs analysis of the parent education. Results from the interview showed that parent education is necessary and that mothers wanted to receive it as a lecture, by telephone consultation, in small group lessons, and as individual counseling from experts with parenting and educational experiences. Required contents of education included how to handle conflicts between children having different tempers, mother¡¯s role as working woman, how to handle differences in parenting style between parents, how to understand the mind of a child , how to discipline a child , and how to make parents themselves happy. The parent education program should be developed by considering derived contents. Also, program development should consider online education and counseling as well as individual teaching methods as a form of education.
